We founded the Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery in 2007 out of our desire to provide healthy, preservative-free dog treats; made with natural ingredients and free of wheat, corn and soy. All our treats are handmade in small batches in our bakery in the mountains of Western North Carolina using locally sourced humangrade ingredients from the U.S.A. Our products are free of chemicals, sugar, salt, artificial flavors, colors and fillers. Just natural ingredients for great tasting treats.
We originally set out to sell only in our store, however as people brought the treats back to their hometowns we were deluged with requests from their local pet stores so we decided to start selling our products wholesale as well. Now our treats are sold in petstores, gourmet food stores, coffee shops, farmers markets and even a bookstore-champagne bar.
We still operate Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery in Waynesville, NC . This offers us the opertunity to get direct feedback for our customers, both canine and human. We strive to find items not available in the "me-to' chainstores. We also believe that as Americans we should make every effort to buy products made in America. All of our collars, leashes, harnesses, floormats, rawhides, bones and more are made here in America.
We also own Cupies4Pets a maker of quality fun functional apparel. We rescued a tiny three legged Maltese who could not walk with any other collar or harness and again public demand for our solution to this problem drove us into producing the Cupies Walking Harness. The Walking Harness has now been joined by a line of collars, leads, cooling bandanas, cupie-bell door-bells, Cupie-Cozy Beds and more. Putting more Americans to work.
We support rescue and adoption agencies and shelters by raising money and awareness, and donating treats in honor of our pack of rescued pups. We hope you’ll consider giving us a try!
